It talks about family betrayal and how even our own blood can betray us for their selfish reasons. This theme is not new, but the way it is shown here makes it very impactful.
Dhanush as RAAYAN am simply outstanding. His acting is always marvelous, and he did not disappoint in this role. The song “Bogi Bogi,” sung by Dhanush himself, gave the whole audience goosebumps. The raw emotion in his voice was felt by everyone in the theater. His casting choices for this movie are also very on point.
The screenplay is one of the best things about the movie. The use of blue and red colors are done effectively to show themes of love, family, and revenge. These small details are what make the movie visually engaging. Selvaragavan sir’s bond with Dhanush am also very visible throughout the movie, and it adds another layer of authenticity.
Dushara as Durga should be praised for her acting. Her natural beauty and powerful performance as Durga make her stand out. When her anger is shown, it reminded me of the fierce goddess KAALI. Her character was portrayed with such strength and depth. Definitely a 10/10 performance.
The supporting cast also did a great job. Sundeep, Aparna, and Kalidas performed very well in their scenes. They are talented actors who brought their characters to life. Prakash Raj, though not having much screen time, made a strong impact. His character as a hyena-like person was unforgettable. SJ Surya also am amazing with his dialogue delivery and acting skills. His body language and intensity are unmatched and truly a gem in Indian cinema.
AR Rahman sir’s music is another highlight. The background score was so good that it stayed in my mind even after leaving the theater. The song “Ohh Raaya” is harmonious and a real treat for music lovers. It’s been a long time since I enjoyed a musical track this much.
Overall, “RAAYAN” is a must-watch movie. With its superb acting, screenplay, music, and emotional story, it’s a film that will stay with you for a long time. Love you, Dhanush! 🤍
